Suction Gas Engine Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was founded in 1911 for the domestic production of suction gas engines, which represented leading-edge technology at the time. Founder Naohide Takeuchi and Tokyo Imperial University Professor Taniguchi and Professor Yoshida had achieved success in development of such an engine, and believed it would be the basis for the modernization of Japanese society. In the many decades that followed, a number of significant changes occurred in Japan, and with each advance in technology, the Company stayed ahead of changing needs with the development and marketing of diesel engines, pumps, compressors and heat exchangers, all the while increasing its level of technical expertise with each new product. Today, the pursuit of higher levels of performance and technology are matched by concern for the environment and the conservation of natural resources. While the global situation has become more complex than ever before, we believe that the simplicity of a traditional approach to mechanical technology can play a valuable and significant role in society.
